Marcie presents LifeStars jewelry to donor families at recognition ceremonies. She shares how her donor family inspired her to create the LifeStars design and how her organ transplant energized her life and deepened her spirit.
For over ten years, Marcie has been a part of the donor ceremonies in Northern California where she lives. She has presented over 4,500 handmade LifeStars to donor families there.
The biannual U.S. Transplant Games, sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation, is the largest gathering of transplant recipients, transplant professionals, and donor families in the world. It is an Olympic style event where transplant athletes compete and show off their new health. These athletes are only alive because they had a donor. Marcie not only speaks at this event but also competes athletically.
